I should probably introduce myself! I’m Polly, and I am the owner of NABBD (Not Another Boring Bridesmaid Dress…) based in the very pretty Wimbledon Park. We are a boutique bridesmaids shop in London specialising in dresses that are a little different from your average gown. They’re stylish, they flatter and your bridesmaids will actually want to wear them! In fact, we offer the type of dresses that your girls will keep as wardrobe staples for years to come, their go-to big event gowns. For us, a happy bridesmaid is a happy bride, because nobody wants to look back at their wedding photos and think, ‘she looks miserable in that dress’ or ‘that style just wasn’t right for her…’. No! Your bridesmaids are the most important people in your life (bar Mum and Dad obv) and they deserve a dress on your big day that they love.
What was the Inspiration for NABBD
Nabbd was born out of the biggest day of my life, so I personally understand just how important your wedding day is, and what it means to get everything just perfect!
There’s no doubt that getting married is one of the most exciting times of your life, however it can also one of the most stressful… When I got engaged back in 2011, I was determined to find bridesmaids dresses in London that:
- I could afford within my budget
- I hadn’t seen at the last dozen weddings I’d been to
- That weren’t available in high street shops (imagine a guest turning up in the same dress as your bridesmaids?!)
Also, as a busy, working woman with bridesmaids spread all over the country, I didn’t want to spend my weekends trawling the country trying to find the perfect bridesmaid dress for them.
It was with these philosophies in mind that Nabbd was born!
As I’m sure you’re aware, your girls no longer have to wear the same bridesmaids dress on your big day! Shock, horror – but it’s true!
